Although we are still on iOS 26.1, everything indicates that the iOS version 26.4 It will be the most interesting one we will see during these next 12 months, so many people are waiting for it to arrive, since according to Apple, it will also be the moment where they will launch a more real and intelligent Siri.
However, it will not be the only change, and we will see many more, so today, we are going to try to compile them all so that iPhone users know what could arrive in a few weeks, as long as it is not delayed, something that we have already seen on other occasions.
New features and functions in iOS 26.4
There are not too many, but they are quite interesting, especially to talk about an extra version within a more general one, since iOS 27 is still a long way off. In summary, they are the following:
- Digital Passport in Wallet: Apple will allow you to add a digital version of the US passport directly to the Wallet app. It can be used at some TSA checkpoints as identification, although it will not replace the physical passport nor will it be used for international travel. We hope that, in the future, it will expand to other countries.
- RCS improvements in Messages: The Messages app will receive full support for RCS 3.0, with features such as end-to-end encryption, threaded replies, editing and undoing messages, as well as more complete Tapback reactions. It doesn't have an exact date yet, but it will arrive within the iOS 26 cycle, so it is possible that in this version. It is not the most used in Europe either, but any improvement in security is appreciated.
- A smarter Siri: Apple is preparing an advanced version of Siri capable of better understanding the user's context, seeing what is on the screen and controlling apps more deeply. Its launch is scheduled for spring 2026, with iOS 26.4, helping, in turn, to improve the functions of the new Apple TV, HomePod, etc.
- Weather via satellite: In the iOS 26 code, a function called “Weather via satellite” was discovered, which will allow you to consult the forecast and other weather data without a WiFi or mobile connection. Although it is not yet officially confirmed, it is one of the most striking bets.
- New emoji: iOS 26.4 will include Unicode 17.0 emoji, including a trombone, treasure chest, distorted face, furry Bigfoot-type creature, fighting cloud, apple core, killer whale, ballet dancers, and landslide.
For now it is all that is known, and even some functions could arrive before iOS 26.4although others may be delayed. However, they are new features that we will end up seeing shortly, to which we would add others that Apple has not revealed, as well as improvements in security, error correction, battery optimization, etc.
