The week of AI announcements on Mac continues, and not just at Apple. After the macOS Sequoia update with the first Apple Intelligence features and the new Mac M4s designed for AI, it is the turn of Claude, Anthropic’s AI model, to arrive on Mac with a dedicated application.
Claude on Mac and Windows
Already available on iOS, Claude now benefits from a native app for macOS, but also for Windows. Whether you have a free or paid account, you can download it now from the Anthropic website.
The application, still in beta, gives direct access to Claude and its latest flagship model Claude 3.5 Sonnet. Enough to benefit from AI capabilities directly in your work environment, without using a browser. Claude 3.5 Sonnet is the most advanced generative AI model with GPT4-o today, and it is definitely worth a try.
Voice dictation on mobile
At the same time, Anthropic has also added a voice dictation function to Claude on iOS, Android and iPadOS. Users can record a message of up to 10 minutes for the AI to transcribe and respond to. Note that this functionality is not yet integrated into the new desktop apps.
With these additions, Anthropic continues to expand its offering to make Claude even more competitive against rivals like ChatGPT. The startup, which is currently raising billions of dollars, is betting big on its AI to find a place in the market. The arrival of a Mac app is a further step in this direction.
