Apple has just announced the new iPad mini 7 through a simple press release. Equipped with the A17 Pro chip (like the iPhone 15 Pro), the small iPad is equipped with the brand’s AI capabilities, an apparently sufficient argument for a new version. While we were waiting for an iPad / Mac keynote, the Cupertino company could simply send other press releases in its “newsroom” for the MacBook Pro M4, iMac M4 and Mac mini m4.
The iPad mini is an important clue
Traditionally, Apple launches its new iPhones and Apple Watches in September, followed by another event in October, primarily focused on Macs and sometimes iPads. If some years are exceptions to the second rule, we thought we were entitled to another conference with entry-level iPads and Mac M4s.
While rumors finally announced the release of the iPad 11 in 2025, Apple launched the iPad mini 7 today, with the argument of a new processor capable of running in-house AI. This therefore leaves little chance for a keynote dedicated to Macs, with no redesign planned.
We are talking about the following three models:
- MacBook Pro M4
- Mac mini M4
- iMac M4
The expected Macs
In all likelihood, we are not expecting any big news from the computer side.
THE MacBook Pro should not evolve except for a new M4 chip and some small minor improvements like Wi-Fi 7.
The future iMac M4 should upgrade their accessories to USB-C, and maybe get a larger size, but that’s it.
For his part, the Mac mini M4 is the only device that should mark the breakthrough thanks to a new, more compact design and better connectivity. Without forgetting the state-of-the-art processor.
But nothing enough to keep customers in suspense for an hour. A simple announcement via press release will be more than enough… unless Apple has a surprise in store for us.
