Many iPhone users have rushed to receive the new update, which was loaded with new features and fixes for previous bugs. However, it doesn’t seem to be as good as it was made out to be. In fact, several people have rushed to complain about the bugs they’ve encountered. Some errors persist, while others are starting to appear. Discontent with Apple is widespread, and that’s why many people are considering whether it’s better not to update for the time being.
We’re not going to focus on the typical battery drain or phone overheating issues, as those are more common issues affecting iPhone owners these days.
iPhones are plagued with problems when updating
A user on X has said that their phone has become filled with ads on the home screen, something really annoying, which has made several consider updating. But that’s not all. As we can see in this image, there are those who encounter errors in the widgets with tint that look bad; several have encountered this glitch. Another user is totally annoyed by the annoying problems with the watch notifications that still don’t work.
Problems with Wi-Fi and AirPlay have also been noted, although this only occurs on some units while working fine on others. This is what one iPhone 16 Pro Max owner said, as he had to disable Wi-Fi and re-enable it for it to work properly. The keyboard issues are unbearable for some, and some even notice them when they have more than one language. Although we’ve discussed these glitches, there are quite a few that iPhone owners have complained about, as they encounter bugs and silly errors everywhere. If we started counting them all, we’d never finish.
A strange error causes messages to disappear, not be sent
In addition to all the iPhone errors caused by the new update, there’s a new bug in the iOS Messages app, as the app can’t send messages with the & character. If you try to transcribe your voice and send messages with a name that includes it, you’ll see that they won’t reach the recipient. However, they are still on your phone. It was discovered in a podcast after trying to talk about Dave & Buster’s, but if you try it, it will happen with any name, whether known or unknown, that includes the & character, such as H&M, Tevas&Co, Tiffany & Co, and many others.
After a few seconds, the message disappears and doesn’t reach the other person. Apparently, Apple’s transcription doesn’t process this symbol and doesn’t send the audio. Although this has only recently been discovered, it shouldn’t be due to the update but rather to the service’s performance, but it’s annoying for many people who see their messages not arriving and getting deleted because of it.
There are quite a few people who are upset that iOS 19 is almost here. It claims to be a revolution, yet the most recent updates are still a mess and full of silly bugs. This is the case with iOS 18.5, but it was also the case with previous updates that users didn’t really like. Others are happy with them because they don’t affect their daily use. We hope Apple fixes them as soon as possible because updating is essential for mobile phones to be more secure and receive the latest updates as they arrive. Are there any that particularly affect your iPhone?
