Google Lens, Google’s visual search engine, is already available on iPhone, through some of its applications. However, on Apple products, the functionality of this visual search engine is quite limited, compared to the version for Android. But the good news is that Google has just announced an update to Chrome for the iPhone, which will allow more advanced visual searches on the browser.

Google Lens will allow you to do more precise searches on iPhone

Currently, Google Chrome for iOS users can take a photo of an object with Google Lens, or send an image stored on the device, in order to do a search related to that object. But thanks to the new update, the image sent to Google Lens can be accompanied by keywords. For example, if the user sends a photo of a snowboard for a visual search, they can also indicate the color they are looking for. And Google Lens will try to find the same board, but in the color that was indicated.

Try asking a question on a topic that interests you or refining your image search by adding a color or visual attribute that you would like to appear in the results”indicates Google. This feature was already available on Android and now it is also offered on iPhones.

Competition between Google and Apple on AI

Google is launching this new feature on Chrome for iOS, while Apple is about to roll out a new feature for the iPhone that will analyze images with artificial intelligence. Otherwise, we also remind you that Google is already testing its Gemini application for the iPhone, which will provide access to Gemini Live, a conversational interface that allows you to interact with artificial intelligence as if you were chatting with a human .
