Basically, Apple CarPlay was designed for streaming applications, mapping, podcasts… However, Domino’s Pizza launched a new, quite unexpected trend more than a year ago: orders from CarPlay without the need for to touch your iPhone! Today, the famous American fast-food restaurant Chick-Fil-A is following suit and also allows its American customers to order from their car.
Order and collect your order without getting out of your car
Apple CarPlay users in the United States have a new app starting today, the Chick-Fil-A app. Known for its legendary breaded chicken, Chick-Fil-A now offers a smoother experience for its customers with this integration into CarPlay. The app allows users to place takeout orders, locate nearby restaurants and even view their order history directly from their car screen, all while complying with road safety standards.
The benefit of this type of integration? It’s ease and speed.
Imagine leaving work and wanting to go get something to eat before heading home. Instead of driving to the restaurant, ordering and then picking up your menu, you can do it all from your car!
The principle is simple, you just have to park, open the restaurant application then choose what interests you through a menu. Once the order has been validated and paid, all you have to do is go to the restaurant to take your order which will already be ready. All this is possible without touching your iPhone, the control is carried out 100% from the touch screen of your vehicle.
Unfortunately, for French users, the Chick-Fil-A application will not be available, simply because the fast-food chain is not yet deployed in our country. You can only enjoy this experience when traveling to the United States, where Chick-Fil-A is very well established.
For the moment, whether in France or the US, there are few CarPlay applications for ordering in a fast food restaurant, however, this approach seems to be developing. Restaurant chains have understood that this is a new way to reach their customers, especially when they are driving their car and potentially near a restaurant.
