@MajinBuOfficial, often cited leaker, brings us his latest information. From what he has heard, the current prototype of the iPhone 17 Pro would opt for a clear and clear separation between the photo module and the flash and the LiDAR.
New rumor
Rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro evolve every month. In October and November, there was talk of a complete change of the photo module, but in December, a new rumor mentioned the retention of the triangle layout.
In January 2025, the leaker @MajinBuOfficial claims that the triangle photo module for the optical sensors will be maintained on the iPhone 17 Pro, but that the LiDAR and flash will be moved to the right. This new arrangement would make it possible to integrate larger sensors, thus improving photographic performance, a key argument during the launches of new smartphones.
As reported last month, this rectangular camera bump would be constructed from aluminum and not 3D glass like the lower part of the iPhone’s back. This is essential for MagSafe to work perfectly.
Even though we all know this, it is once again important to remember that we are talking about rumors here. As always, the closer the official release approaches, the more concrete the rumors become. Let’s hope that Apple will preserve the usual minimalist design and not introduce a too imposing rear photo block.
Based on what I’ve been told, it seems that on the current prototypes of the iPhone 17 Pro, the camera module maintains the same arrangement of cameras. However, what seems to change are the size, the placement of the flash, and that of the Lidar sensor. pic.twitter.com/jYvWanNGhk
