Although a rumor yesterday suggested a simultaneous launch with iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 in the coming days, our colleague clarified on that, although the devices are in development on this software schedule, their release could precede that of iOS 18.4. What’s new for the iPhone SE 4?
The iPhone SE 4 should benefit from major updates, modernizing the experience and unifying the range:
- Design: A 6.1-inch OLED screen and a chassis inspired by the iPhone 14, abandoning the Home button.
- Processor: An A18 chip for improved performance and better power efficiency, as well as access to Apple Intelligence.
- Camera: Advances in photography thanks to a 48 MP sensor, with a possible emphasis on low light quality.
- Connectivity: The introduction of advanced 5G via an in-house modem and, for the first time in this range, Wi-Fi 6E compatibility.
- USB-C port: An expected change, harmonized with the rest of the iPhone range.

What to expect for the iPad 11?
The 11th generation iPad should continue to improve Apple’s entry-level tablet experience:
- Processor: A likely update to the A16 chip, for better performance in demanding applications and multitasking. But no AI.
- Design: Still based on the iPad 10 chassis, but with optimizations like slightly thinner bezels.
- Accessories: Better support for Apple Pencil Pro, making creativity and productivity easier.
The iPad 11 retains its USB-C port, but hardware and software updates should make it even more attractive to students and families.
A launch in spring 2025
Apple therefore seems to be aiming for a release by April, probably via an online event or press release. We are also expecting AirTags 2, AirPods Pro 3 and new Mac M4s, but probably for later.
