Clearly, the repression against piracy has been very vigorous in France recently. Several new decisions of the Paris judicial court dated November 7 are once again here to confirm this for us with the upcoming closure of 53 streaming sites and IPTV services which broadcast the French rugby and football championships. As detailed by our colleagues from NumeramaCanal+ obtained that this decision applies to the main national access providers, such as Orange, SFR, Free and Bouygues Telecom. Added to these are Free mobile and services located overseas: SPM telecom, OMT, SRR, Free Caraïbe. Likewise, the encrypted channel requested the delisting of the portals on the Google and Bing search engines.

Concerning DAZN, the same ISPs are cited, but it is also necessary to mention: Canal + telecom, Dauphin telecom, Digicel French Antilles Guyana, Globaltel, Parabole Réunion, Telco Oi, United telecommunication services Caraïbe, Zeop and Zeop mobile.

Repression does not pay in France

Judicial decisions are coming very quickly in France against pirate platforms. Only a few days ago, we were already talking about this verdict from the Paris judicial court which, seized of a complaint from Canal+, had ordered the delisting by Google and Bing of around forty portals illegally broadcasting live Champions League matches. For more information on this, you can re-read our article here.

However, piracy continues to flourish in our country. If we rely on a survey recently conducted by Odoxa, 5% of French people, or around 2.5 million of our fellow citizens, use illegal means to view meetings (IPTV or illegal streaming).

This practice is in no way stigmatized by our compatriots, and 6 out of 10 French people even explain that they understand this behavior. They consider that the subscription prices of paid television platforms and channels are too high. Do not hesitate to consult this study in more detail here. What do you think of the strategy currently at work in the country? Tell us in the comments.
