A South Korean company has put on sale two new laser rifles to shoot down drones

Nowadays, drones continue to improve year after year. A company has already managed to develop a model that uses hydrogen to operate, which does not pollute. In China, drones have been manufactured that are capable of talking to each other and in the United States another that is invisible to radars.

Of course, these types of latest-generation drones are unreachable by a conventional rifle, but there are other types of drones that are not of the latest generation that are used massively. These drones are capable of carrying bombs or spying and can be shot down by a special rifle.

In South Korea, The Anti-Drones company has put two models on sale of ray rifles capable of shooting down a drone quickly and efficiently. These two models are the Skynet ADS and Skynet Ultra. some names reference the Terminator film saga.

Actually, in the photographs that have been published of these weapons, the appearance they have is surprising. There is no doubt that they have a futuristic sci-fi movie look. Its use is simple, the soldier must connect it, aim at the enemy drone and press the trigger. In a few moments, the drone will be shot down.

How does this technology really work? It seems like magic or smart ammunition, but it’s nothing like that. Everything is due to electrical pulses or if we prefer, a laser beam that when launched against a drone melts down its internal systems and causes it to fall.

Despite the usefulness of more conventional drone models, their internal systems are weak against an attack of this type. Lasers are a relatively new technology. If we refer to their use on the battlefield directly, but more and more armies are betting on them, such as the British Army. In summary, we can say that:

At the moment these weapons are very bulky but it is entirely certain that more compact models with better features will be designed in the near future.
