Motorola has set a day and time for its next ultra-thin mobile. The Edge 70 will be presented on November 5an event in which the brand seeks to reinforce its catalog with a well-designed phone. It is not intended to compete directly with the top-of-the-range models, but rather to offer a balanced alternative in design, performance and price.
After several weeks of leaks, the company has begun to update its website and its campaigns in Europe to warm up its engines. The first advances point to a body below 6 mmseveral color options (Lily Pad, Bronze Green and Gadget Gray) and a clear commitment to finish and lightness. On paper, it is Motorola's response to this new batch of very fine mobile phones in which the iPhone AIr and the Galaxy S25 Edge.
An ultra-thin mobile that aims at the mid-high range
Beyond the thickness, promotional images and official trailers reveal a main camera on the back 50 megapixel with OIS accompanied by an ultra wide angle camera. The third lens is still up in the air: it could be a telephoto lens or a support sensor, but we will have to wait for the presentation. It is also expected to include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and configurations of up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
Motorola does not present it as a flagship in the strict sense. If it maintains the line of other Edges, it is expected that it will have a tighter price than its ultra-thin competitors, prioritizing a good balance between design, multimedia and autonomy over record-breaking power figures. It is, in short, a mobile phone aimed at those who want a very stylish terminal without giving up a good package of functions.
What we know and what remains to be confirmed
The Edge 70 would be the global version of the Moto X70 Air which will be released in China at the end of October. Details have been leaked from that model that, if transferred to the international model, would give interesting clues: there is talk of high-density battery (silicon-carbon) around 4800 mAh and 68W fast chargingtwo keys to supporting such a thin chassis. Listings have also appeared with a high-resolution panel, a completely flat design and top quality materials. Even so, and as always in these phases, it is advisable to take it with caution until the official announcement.
In photography, Motorola has been fine-tuning its processing in the Edge series, with improvements in portrait and night. If he 50 megapixel sensor with 2.0 µm pixels (micrometers) is confirmed, it should perform well in low light for the category. The challenge will be to maintain a good balance between temperature and performance in such a thin body, and to see if the brand opts for a real telephoto lens or relies on cropping and super resolution.
