The big G once again attacks the mobile segment that seeks a balance between performance and price. He Google Pixel 10a has just been officially announced with the firm promise of bringing the virtues of the high-end to the tightest pockets. This terminal comes boasting a design where the camera module integrates completely flat in the chassis, eliminating annoying rear bulges. In addition, the brand scores a point in sustainability by using 100% recycled aluminum and new recovered materials for its four colors: lavender, raspberry, fog gray and obsidian.
On the front we are welcomed by a panel Actuates 6.3 incheswhich, according to the manufacturer, is 11% brighter than its direct predecessor. To withstand the daily jog, it has Gorilla Glass 7i protection and the essential IP68 certification against water and dust. However, although on the outside we see a predictable evolution, the real technological leap is found when scratching the surface of its internal hardware.
The expected leap in connectivity and the magic of Gemini
Under the hood beats the processor Google Tensor G4exactly the same brain that assembles the Pixel 9aaccompanied by options of 128 or 256 GB of storage. But the most applauded technical news is the confirmation of its new modem: the Exynos 5400. Leaving behind the problematic chip of the previous model was almost mandatory, and this change not only promises to solve coverage and energy efficiency problems, but also introduces the satellite SOS in the 'A' family, a lifesaving feature in areas without a traditional mobile network.
If we talk about photography, the American brand usually plays it safe. we have a 48 MP main camera accompanied by a 13 MP wide angle. On paper, this photographic hardware is conservative and does not break any mold, but Google blindly trusts software processing. The tools of artificial intelligence Powered by Gemini, such as the “Include me” function to appear in group photos without using a tripod or advanced editing, they try to justify the label of best camera for this price range.

Unbeatable support in an increasingly expensive market

The section where it is almost impossible to criticize the new Pixel 10a is its longevity. The mobile comes out of the box with Android 16 (and its renewed Material 3 Expressive interface), but what is really attractive are its seven years of guaranteed updates. This means receiving security patches and operating system improvements until the distant year 2033. It remains to be seen if its battery ages with the same dignity as its software over such a long time.
The device is now available for book in Spain for a official price of 549 euros. It is still a tremendously capable smartphone, complete in fluidity and updates, but technological inflation is evident and this cost is beginning to dangerously blur the border between economical and high-end entry-level.
Taking into account that we increasingly have to dig deep into our pockets, do you think that the 549 euros of the Pixel 10a are justified by its camera and its 7 years of support, or would you look at alternatives from Asian brands?
