It's been almost 18 months since Apple presented us what it would be Apple Intelligence and a new Siri more modern, that interacts with us as if it were a human, and not a machine. However, the company's plans have been increasingly delayed.

Currently, it seemed that this would arrive in iOS 26.4, a version planned for the first of 2026. However, although it is true that we will see it, it will not end up being as interesting as it was believed, and even the engineers themselves and those responsible for its creation doubt its effectiveness.

New Siri in 2026: what will it be like?

Apple is about to release iOS 26.4, and one of the big news will be a completely renewed Siri. This version promises to be smarter and closer, capable of understanding what the user has on the screen and performing tasks within the apps only with their voice. The idea is that Siri stops feeling like a limited assistant and becomes something really useful on a daily basis.

However, not everything is going as well as Apple hoped. According to journalist Mark Gurman, Some engineers within the company have expressed some concern because of how the new Siri is working. The exact details are not known, but it seems that the system still has several bugs and does not always respond the way it should.

Apple presented this new stage of Siri during its WWDC 2024 event, promising that the assistant will be able to “understand the context”, use personal information such as messages or meetings, and manage apps directly with simple phrases. It sounds good, but apparently development is being more complicated than expected, and Apple wants to take its time to make everything work as it should.

Siri introduced by Apple

In principle, the improvements were going to arrive with iOS 18.4, but the project was delayed. In July, Apple said the progress was good, although it also left the door open to another possible delay if problems continue. The company prefers to wait before launching something half-hearted, although users are beginning to protest about it, since many purchased new iPhones because of this.

In short, the new Siri aims high: it promises to be more natural, understand the user better and truly serve as a daily help. But within Apple they know that there is still work to be done before they can fulfill that promise, something that other companies have already resolved, since Gemini, ChatGPT, etc., work quite well, and could continue to gain territory from Apple, which does not seem to have the key.

And you, do you think we'll finally see a Siri that understands what we want to tell it, or will we end up suffering another delay once again? Let's hope that's not the case, and that Apple is taking so long because it ends up surpassing its rivals with a single update, even though the engineers themselves have doubts about it. There are a few weeks left, let's hope it is finally resolved and everything remains a rumor. Leave us a comment with your opinion about it, and if this is important to you, or you wouldn't care if Siri improved.
