There are many rumors that have arrived in recent months about the new Apple TV, and although they are nothing more than that for the moment, we are almost sure that Apple is going to launch the next generation of the device in 2025, after more than two years since the arrival of the third generation Apple TV 4K.

Users expect a major renewal, and the leaks seem to go that way. Among the notable new features, we would see compatibility with the support for Wi-Fi 6Ea possible integrated camera and, most surprising, a much more affordable price. We tell you everything we know in this post. The new Apple TV will change everything.

New Apple TV in 2025 with improved connectivity and camera

Renowned Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman recently revealed that Apple is developing its own Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo chipwhich will debut on several devices next year, including Apple TV. This chip would be compatible with Wi-Fi 6E, a technology that extends the capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 to the 6 GHz spectrum. This will result in faster wireless connections with less interference, as long as they are used with compatible routers.

Currently, the Apple TV 4K uses Wi-Fi 6, but this new generation promises to take the streaming experience to the next level, especially for those who consume content in 4K or play games on Apple Arcade.

Another of the most interesting rumors that are not arriving is the possibility that the next Apple TV will incorporate an integrated camera. Since the update to tvOS 17, users can now make video calls on your TV through the FaceTime app, using the rear camera of a connected iPhone or iPad. However, an Apple TV with its own camera would simplify this process, leaving aside the need to depend on another device.

Although this change is not yet confirmed, Apple appears to be exploring new ways to make its set-top box more versatile. An integrated camera would open the door to other applications, such as Zoom meetings, live streaming, or even motion-based gaming.

Performance and price: the big bet of Apple TV

The power is not far behind either. The current Apple TV 4K incorporates the A15 Bionic chip, the same one that debuted with the iPhone 13 in 2021. However, the 2025 model is expected to update this processor to one of the latest generationsuch as the A16 Bionic or even the A18 Pro, to ensure smooth performance in the most demanding applications.

The price could be another of the big surprises. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would be considering launching this model with an initial price less than 100 dollarsa strategy to attract more users and compete in a market where alternatives such as Roku or Amazon Fire TV dominate the lower price ranges. Currently, the Apple TV 4K starts at $129, so this reduction would be a significant change.

Although there is no exact date for the launch yet, if we follow the chronology of previous models, the new Apple TV could be announced sometime in the first half of 2025. Previous generations have been launched in April, September and October, which suggests that Apple could follow this schedule.

With these new features, Apple seems to be betting heavily on improving the living room experience, not only with faster connectivity and innovative features, but also with a competitive price that could make the difference compared to its rivals.
