A few months ago, Xiaomi created an event in the automobile market by announcing the release of its very first electric car. Launched in March 2024, the SU7 sedan has nothing to be ashamed of, either in its characteristics and its performances, or in its results. Indeed, its production has just exceeded 100,000 electric cars, doing better than the brand hoped.
Faced with this very positive observation and this very warm welcome all over the world, Xiaomi has not lost control. The Chinese manufacturer intends to continue its expansion in the automotive sector. In this sense, Xiaomi has just unveiled its second electric vehicle: an SUV that has it all.
YU7, the eagerly awaited Xiaomi SUV
After the SU7, here is the YU7. With this new electric vehicle model, Xiaomi intends to meet the demand of drivers who are fond of larger cars. After the sedan, Xiaomi is promising an SUV.
The YU7 is, thus, a variation of the Xiaomi sedan which is a hit. The manufacturer has just filed the approval file in China and has chosen to take the lead. To avoid leaks, the brand itself revealed the first official visuals of its YU7 on Weibo.
There’s no denying that Xiaomi’s SUV is something to dream about. Its connection with the SU7 is undeniable. We find its still elegant design, although this new model is logically more imposing. It appears that this electric SUV would measure 4.99 meters long, 1.99 meters wide and 1.60 meters high. For the rest, Xiaomi still leaves the suspense hanging. According to rumors, the YU7 should benefit from a combined power of 508 kW.
When will Xiaomi’s SUV be released? Nothing official at the moment. But in all likelihood, the Xiaomi YU7 should be marketed in June or July 2025. All that remains is to wait for more information from the manufacturer. We imagine that Xiaomi will provide us with more answers in the coming months. The biggest question remaining, of course, is the price.
