Now that we have the seventh generation of the Xiaomi Pad, the brand’s best that arrived to compete with the top devices of the competition, Xiaomi has almost ready its next launch on the market, the REDMI Pad 2.
As is often the case in the world of electronics, the major brands first launch their most impressive flagships in the new generations of devices—the most expensive, powerful, and top-of-the-range models—and then gradually introduce the mid-range and entry-level models. In this case, it seems that April will be the month of the presentation of the Redmi Pad 2, a Xiaomi tablet that, if experience is any guide, should be a great value for money. It’s expected to be a model with good features and a fairly tight budget, as is the case with the Redmi tablets we already have.
Two certification codes
According to XiaomiTime, the brand has obtained several global certifications that would correspond to the new Redmi tablet line. This is a necessary step to complete before launching a model in many markets, so it’s logical to think we’ll see an official announcement from Xiaomi itself very soon.
The two certifications identified correspond to the numbers 25040RP0AG and 2505DRP06G. These numbers don’t mean anything to the average user, but they actually give us some very interesting clues: the G at the end refers to the European model, and other variants have been located for Indian and UAE models, so everything points to Xiaomi being preparing a simultaneous global launch this time . Furthermore, if Xiaomi maintains the nomenclature used to date, the 2504 at the beginning of the registration number would indicate the month of April for its launch.
Everything we know about the Redmi Pad 2
The certifications obtained were accompanied by sketches of the tablet, as we can see. It appears to be a tablet with a more daring design than the latest Redmi, the SE, and with an oval camera module that could accommodate two sensors, as is the case with its POCO X7 Pro phone, which has gone from a triple to a double module in its latest generation.
The other details we know aren’t a surprise, but they’re already confirmed. It will feature dual-band Wi-Fi, supporting 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, Bluetooth connectivity, and will come with HyperOS 2.1 installed. Although this is a new model, users won’t have any problems receiving the latest operating system updates for quite some time.
We also know there won’t be a front-facing camera and that we’ll have two speakers located at the top of the device. The power button, meanwhile, will also be located on the top edge.
The rest is pure speculation, but as we said, the Redmi product line has always been characterized by offering very competent features for more affordable budgets. With this in mind, we can expect mid-range tablets that will likely stand out for their screens and for playing all kinds of multimedia content, especially videos and music.
