100W, 120W or 240W…how your phone’s battery gets full in minutes, these smartphones have superfast charging

Tech News Desk – For the last few months, we have been continuously hearing about fast charging. Even in Mobile World Congress 2023, we heard about many such phones, which come with 120W or 240W fast charging. At MWC where Oppo talked about the 240W SuperVOOC concept charging support. At the same time, Honor Magic 4 Pro 100W charging and 240W fast charging have been talked about in Realme GT3. This feature is counted among the special features of the smartphone. But now the question is what is this feature after all? Let’s know about it.

What is fast charging?
This technology works to quickly charge your phone or tablet. Fast charging is a popular feature that allows you to fast charge your device in no time. But it is important for you to know that not all devices use the same type of fast charging and not all chargers support different standards. For this you need to know how it works.

How does fast charging work?
Before knowing about fast charging, you need to know some things about it. Explain that the output of the charge is measured in amperage and voltage. Amperage (or current) is the amount of electricity flowing from a battery to a connected device, while voltage is the strength of the electric current. Multiplying volts by amperage gives you wattage, which is a measure of total power. To charge a device faster, most manufacturers either increase the amperage or change the voltage to increase the amount of potential energy. Most fast charging standards usually vary the voltage rather than increasing the amperage.

This point is necessary for fast charging
Standard USB 3.0 ports output at 5V/1A levels just fine for small devices like wearables. While phones and other devices are capable of handling 5V/2.4A. For fast charging, manufacturers increase the voltage from 5V to 9V or 12V and higher, or increase the amperage to 3A and higher. But the introduction of USB-C has helped meet fast charging with support for up to 100W and 20V, making faster charging speeds possible. Keep in mind, your device will only draw as much power as it needs to charge. The circuit has been designed. For fast charging, you need a phone or other device that has charging circuitry capable of using one of the fast charging standards. We will tell you which charger is best for you.

Which charger is good for fast charging?
Let us tell you that there are many different standards of fast charging. So which option is best for your device depends on the type of phone, the standards it supports and the charger you use. Here we are giving a list, which will help you to understand it.
