I will never buy an iPhone, ever. Just like there are many people who don’t want to see an Android phone, I am not willing to have a smartphone that will limit me in many aspects. Today I am going to review the 5 problems that iOS has for which having an iPhone seems like a terrible decision to me.
It should be noted that this is a matter of preference and those who have had an Apple phone all their lives will completely refuse to adapt to the Android experience again. I personally have always had Android, although when I have had an iPhone in my hand I have never disliked it, as I have disliked the limitations of iOS.
Apple ensures the security of users in terms of privacy and this ends up translating into some somewhat restrictive measures when setting up an iPhone. This, along with other issues, is what makes me choose Android as an operating system over iOS, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
iOS and its main problems
Of course, iOS has a lot of good things going for it, such as its highly optimized integration of services, smooth performance, almost non-existent security holes, and other advantages. But there are a number of features that it did not accept and that are why I will never, ever buy an iPhone. Here are my reasons for thinking so:
More limited customization
It is true that on an iPhone you can customize the lock screen more or other parameters such as the contact card of each user, but when it comes down to it, it falls short. After all, we only see the lock screen to check notifications or the time, while almost all the action happens on the home screen and in this aspect it is very little customizable. Icons and layout are virtually unchangeable, although the latest version of iOS seems to be moving toward that.
Security limits the experience
It’s all well and good that Apple phones are a bastion of cybersecurity, but the reality is that the high levels of security on the iPhone end up influencing the experience. Impossible to download an APK on an iPhone either way, while the process for root on an American brand phone is also much more complex than on Android.
Complicated interoperability between devices
The main problem with iOS is that if you have an iPhone, you are forced to have practically the entire ecosystem of Apple devices to take full advantage of their features. Interoperability has always been an issue for users and that is why the European Union has taken action to allow users greater freedom when using an iPhone and Android separately.
There is no app drawer
This is one of the things I hate most about Apple and in 2024 I still don’t understand why they haven’t included this option yet. On an iPhone there is no app drawer, which means that all the apps you download pile up on the home screen, so You can only organize them in foldersThe application drawer is essential for consulting the list of applications on your mobile from the menu and accessing any of them or establishing categories for them.
If you want to try iOS, prepare the money
Another big problem with iOS is that there’s no way to try out the experience other than spending a lot of money on an iPhone. Those who’ve never owned an Android can get a taste of what it’s like on the cheap without throwing money away, but Buying a current iPhone will cost you around 900 euros approximately, while the Android catalogue shows alternatives from 100 euros.
