Laptops equipped with OLED panels are becoming more and more popular. It must be said that the manufacturer Asus has something to do with its VivoBook range. Today it is even possible to acquire one at a reasonable price, like the VivoBook S15 OLED which loses 250 euros of its price. It’s a complete model, offering good image quality, but also good performance thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 chip. If you’ve been waiting for a price drop to crack, now is the perfect time.
What is the Asus VivoBook S15 OLED?
- A 15.6-inch FHD OLED panel
- The Ryzen 5 + 8 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD combo
- One day autonomy
Instead of a price crossed out at 799.99 euros, the Asus VivoBook S15 OLED laptop PC (S533UA-L1216T) is currently on sale at 549.99 euros on the Rue Du Commerce site.
A well-finished laptop, with the added bonus of a quality OLED panel
First introduced on its premium range, ZenBook, Asus now offers OLED technology on its VivoBook. Here the S15 OLED model (S533) has an OLED panel. It displays a Full HD definition of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with bright and brilliant colors, while offering deep blacks, ensuring very good contrast and good brightness management. In addition to providing good image quality, it offers a thin frame and an 85% screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience.
This tile also comes with an elegant design. We feel the know-how of the manufacturer, which delivers a very successful sober and elegant design. And despite its 15.6-inch panel, this laptop takes up little space with its thickness of 1.8 cm and its weight of less than 1.8 kg. It will slip quite easily into a bag and will be the ideal traveling companion. With its discreet look and its slender chassis, this VivoBook is not poor in connectivity, there is a USB-C port, an HDMI 1.4 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, two UBC 2.0 Type A ports, and the presence of a Micro-SD card reader and a jack completes the whole thing.
A solid setup
The Taiwanese manufacturer has not neglected the technical sheet of its ultrabook. There is an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U chip that can go up to 4.0 GHz, 8 GB of RAM in LPDDR4X format and 512 GB of SSD storage via an NVMe module. With such a configuration, the ultrabook behaves like a charm, whether for office automation or for running more advanced applications. On the other hand, it will very quickly be limited for extensive use in gaming. It even includes an AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 graphics chipset, which still allows you to run some eSports and 2D games very correctly – enough to delight some casual players. Wireless connections are ensured by the presence of Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
With all these elements, the laptop is quite durable because with its battery the device is able to last about 9 hours in classic use – enough to use it for a good day away from an outlet. However, this model, unfortunately, does not offer fast charging.
