GTA V and its Online mode arrive this Tuesday, March 15, 2022 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in a version optimized for next-gen consoles. For those who own the game on PS4 and Xbox One, it is possible to migrate its progress to the new machines. Only, a problem prevents those who have previously transferred their account on PC from switching it to PS5 and Xbox Series X. Rockstar is working on its resolution.
As you may know, GTA V and its Online mode land this Tuesday, March 15, 2022 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. On the program of this version optimized for next-gen consoles, many graphic improvements: 4K 60 FPS, Ray-Tracingbetter density of population and vegetation, more varied road traffic, reworked light and shadow effects or even better reflections in water.
Of course, this version will also take advantage of the SSD of the last two machines from Microsoft and Sony to offer significantly reduced loading times. The first tests confirm this: it now takes 27 seconds on PS5 to load the map instead of one minute and thirty-seven seconds on PS4.

A bug prevents transferring progress in a specific case
Without surprise, Rockstar has also confirmed that it will be possible to transfer your progress to Story Mode and Online. PS4 and Xbox One versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X. This will require going through the Rockstar Games Social Club platform when loading the game to transfer character, stats, bank account, owners, weapons, clothing and jobs to the news versions.
There is however a catch. Players who have already migrated their GTA Online PS4 or Xbox One account to PC are unable to switch their account to PS5 and Xbox Series X. For the moment, the origin of this blockage is unknown, but do not panic, Rockstar is aware of the situation. The studio assures that it “is currently working on resolving this issue” and that players will be notified as soon as the transfer process is working again.
As a reminder, the transition to the next-gen version of GTA V is not free. You will have to pay a total of €39.99 to acquire the complete pack including the Solo mod and the multi. However, you can enjoy it at the promotional price of €9.99 on PS5 for three months after launch. On Xbox Series, the campaign is displayed at €19.99 while GTA Online is available separately at €9.99.
