After the arrival of MIUI 14, the customization layer based on Android 13 for Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO mobiles, the tech giant is already working on Android 14, the new version of the operating system, whose release date was confirmed just a few days ago.
As that date approaches, the company works with developer versions to polish rough edges before the first public betas arrive. Among the most notable changes of this type of versions, touched the music player.
Changes in the new ‘Developer Preview’ of Android 14
Before reaching Xiaomi phones, Android 14 must be perfect. The first step to be pass through the hands of developerswhich is known as a ‘Developer Preview’, and they will make sure that everything is in order before reaching the public in general.
This past week the Developer Preview 2 of Android 14 was released for the Google Pixel (Google phones, the first to receive Android updates), and brings some news that could well reach Xiaomi when we can update to the new version of Android for the end of the year.
The most notable of all is in the player. Until now, and in Android 13, playing music on our Xiaomi mobile had a default design that, with Android 14, Bring back that wave-like playline that we saw in the first versions of Android 13.

In this developer build of Android 14, that music player is back, and it looks like this time Google would plan to take it to the final versionsince it is the second time that it appears in this type of betas.
In addition, a new section has also been seen specially created for speakers and screens. This is a new tool to broadcast content, more developed than the current ‘Broadcast’ that we can find in MIUI 13 by lowering the notification bar.
As we have said, just a few days ago the date of Google IO 2023 was made public, and it will be from May 14 when we know all the news that the new version of Android will bring us to our Xiaomi phones, which will have to incorporate it into the future MIUI 15.
