Several customers who own AirPods Pro 2 complain that they received a notification suggesting that they change the battery of their new headphones. At first glance, we simply have to deal with a display bug, which is no less annoying and above all misleading.
AirPods Pro 2: a false notification that challenges
The release of the AirPods Pro 2 is not easy. After a repairability rating of 0/10 or even connection problems, here is an additional bug that has appeared. According to the explanations of several users on Reddit, the application Locate send a notification indicating “replace battery soon” talking about the AirPods Pro 2 when the battery of the earbuds or the case is low.
The notification is also very precise, because it indicates whether it is the right AirPods, the left AirPods or the case that needs a battery change. Since Apple’s new Pro earbuds have only just been released, it’s impossible for some batteries to be dead already, especially since Apple doesn’t offer replacement batteries on this product. The most plausible explanation is therefore on the side of the display bug.
The notification in question is similar to the one you can receive when you need to change the battery on an AirTag, except that in this case, the notification is real. Impossible for the moment to know if a significant number of users are affected by this bug, but there is no doubt that Apple will soon correct it through an update.
