All Microsoft products that are no longer supported this 2023

A few days ago we told you that, in less than a month, Microsoft is going to discontinue support of Windows 10 21H2, one of the most used versions of the operating system, launched in spring 2021 and which, even today, is still installed on many computers. However, if you thought that this version of Windows this was the only thing that was going to happen to a better life this year, you were very wrong.

2023 is going to be a cleanup year for Microsoft. The company already has a list with all the products and services that are going to disappear this year, from Windows 10, and also Windows 11, to Office and all kinds of administrative and business tools and services. We are going to do a little review of everything that is going to stop having support in the next two months:

  • Windows 10 21H2, both Home and Pro, on June 13.
  • Visual Studio 2022, Version 17.0, on July 11.
  • Windows Embedded (8 Standard / 8.1 Industry) on July 11.

And, if we look a little further, specifically to October 10, 2023, we also find a good list of products that, after the summer, will pass away.

  • Windows 11, Home and Pro, version 21H2.
  • Hyper V Server 2012/R2.
  • Microsoft Office 2019 for Mac.
  • Windows Embedded Compact 2013.
  • Windows Server 2012/R2.
  • Windows Storage Server 2012/R2.
  • Hyper V Server 2012/R2.

Of all these programs, what most strikes us is that the first Windows 11 update, which seems to have arrived on computers not long ago, is already giving its last throes of life. And we will have to update to 22H2 if we do not want to have problems in a few months. In addition, companies that still use Windows Server 2012 (which are many more than we imagine), are also at a very serious crossroads, since a server without security updates can be a problem.

New life for Office 2019

Although the Mac version is coming to an end, Microsoft has announced that its Office 2019 for PC the same fate will not follow. The company has indicated that, as of October 10, this version of the Microsoft suite will become part of the extended support program. This means that users who have this version of Office installed will continue to receive free security, maintenance, and support updates, but no new features, functionality, or design changes will be included.

Word Office Initial Wizard

If all goes as planned, Microsoft will continue to support Office 2019 for two more years, until October 2025. On that date, Office 2019 will pass away and will no longer have all kinds of support, both security and maintenance. Along with it, Office 2016, which right now is also within the extended support plan, will disappear completely on the same date. And we can only use version 2022, or Microsoft 365, to be able to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs.
