If you’ve upgraded to Windows 11, you shouldn’t have too many problems adapting to the new operating system. The learning curve is affordable, but there may still be some step or adjustment that is beyond your control. AND that is what an application like ThisIsWin11 wants to correct.
It is a portable application that does not require installation and is open source. Available on GitHub, ThisIsWin11 allows you to centralize control of different aspects of Windows 11 in a single place and thus facilitates the customization of the operating system to our liking and according to our needs.
Everything under control
ThisIsWin11, a portable program (no installation required) for Windows 11 and its goal is to make it easy to customize Windows 11 based on user preferences. It also does so by centralizing the entire process in a single place, which makes the task considerably easier.
ThisIsWin11 is an app for now only available in English, but offers no doubts when interpreting it and use it. It offers everything from information about what’s new in Windows 11 to allowing you to uninstall applications from the application and without having to enter “Settings”.

By means of a series of icons it offers access to different functions. We are in the left part of the screen with “Home”, “Customize”, “Apps”, “Packages”, “Automate” and “Extensions”.
- home: offers information about the new features of Windows 11. It is a kind of tutorial with everything that the operating system can offer.
- customize: used to apply all kinds of changes. The “check” button allows the app to perform a quick check and suggest changes. You can make aesthetic changes, activate the Windows subsystem for Android, show hidden files…

- apps: It is used to uninstall any of the pre-installed Windows 11 apps, either one by one or in a group.
- packages: used to install apps via winget, the Windows package manager.
- Automate: Allows you to generate custom scripts to run tasks or get new ones from GitHub.
- Extensions: Allows you to install extensions for ThisIsWin11 to eg enable classic context menus or disable TPM 2.0 checking.
You can download ThisIsWin11 from this link on GitHub and before applying changes it is interesting to create a restore point in case something doesn’t go as expected, something that the app itself offers you when applying settings in the customization section.
