Amazon announced the launch of its line of Fire TV televisions in Mexico, which will be offered in three ranges to cover all users. The devices come with features like Alexa hands-free control, ambient background, HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision IQ, and other features. Despite the fact that Mexico is one of the most important countries for Amazon, the company has taken a long time to offer its televisions.
The offer is varied and comprises three segments. He Fire TV Omni QLED Series is located in the high range and comes with the largest number of options. This model is offered in 55, 65, and 75-inch sizes, all with a 4K display with Quantum Dot technology offering local dimming full array of up to 96 zones. The TV supports HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision IQ and adaptive HDR10+ and uses a feature that dynamically adjust brightness levels depending on the lighting conditions in the room.
One of the most striking options of the Fire TV Omni QLED Series is the environmental background, which allows you to take advantage of the screen when the TV is turned off. As we see in models from other manufacturers, Amazon’s proposal is turn the TV into a kind of dynamic boxwhere we can view works of art or interact with widget Alexa to check the weather or access your calendar and reminders.
The ambient background is activated by presence sensors that detect when a person enters the room. Added to the gadgets and dynamic galleries with photography and artwork, the Fire TV Omni QLED Series also integrates art generated by AI. According to Amazon, this option creates a background based on the environment, weather, time of day, and proximity.
While the Omni QLED series is the most feature-rich model, Amazon hasn’t left other segments aside. He Fire TV Series 4, focused on the mid-rangeis offered in 43-, 50-, and 55-inch sizes, all with 4K display supporting HDR 10 HLG and Dolby Digital Plus. Although the panel technology is the most obvious difference, the Series 4 also does without other features such as the ambient background or hands-free control with Alexa.
Lastly, the Fire TV Series 2 focuses on the input range and is only available in 32-inch and 40-inch models. The first one has a screen with HD resolution (720p) and supports HDR 10, HLG, and Dolby Digital sound. For his part, the 40-inch variant offers Full HD resolution and shares the same features as its smaller brother, such as Alexa support and access to Skills and Smart Home options.

With the launch of its range of televisions, Amazon will seek to gain a foothold in a segment already dominated by Samsung, LG, TLC or HiSense. Unfortunately, the offer falls short when compared to the competition. All variants of the Omni QLED have a 60hz panel, falling behind models from Sony or Hisense. In some cases it is cheaper to buy a Sony X1 Ultimate with an OLED screen and 120 Hz than an Omni QLED.
The truth is that Amazon would take advantage of offer seasons such as Prime Day, Hot Sale or the Good End, lowering the price of its televisions to face its rivals.
