Last June I was born AMC SELECT, a new package of television channels owned by AMC Networks International Southern Europe (AMCNISE) for contracting by customers of Movistar Plus+ and? would house a total of 14 channels of very diverse themes including movies, series, news, documentaries and lifestyle programs.
The price of the package itself is €3.99 per monthalthough as we can read on the Movistar support page, in order to access its contracting we need to have contracted some type of miMovistar with the Movistar Plus+ Essential package which has a cost of 11 euros per month.
Until now SELEKT had had a somewhat problematic start, as many users did not understand why the operator I removed some channels that they already had for free (or at least without additional cost) on their television platform, forcing them to pay those 3.99 euros more if they wanted to continue watching them.
Now those responsible for the service have announced important news in terms of quantity and we hope also quality of content in an attempt to attract more users to contract this new payment platform.
AMC SELEKT news for this season
On the occasion of the FesTVal de Vitoria, the platform has announced its news for the coming months, highlighting that more than 1,000 titles will be released “exclusively” of varied themes such as series, cinema, documentaries, factual or lifestyle.
As they have commented, between now and the end of the year AMC SELEKT will increase its content volume with 14 daily premieres: three new series every week, five movie premieres a day, 30 exclusive documentary premieres every week and 25 weekly lifestyle premieres.
For example, they will have the exclusive premiere in Spain of the final series and episodes of ‘Fear The Walking Dead‘October 23,’Good people‘ or the television adaptation of ‘creepshow‘ full. The series about time loops’The Lazarus Project‘ will return in AMC with a second season and the German one’Das Boot‘ with the fourth season.
The television channel Sundance TV will premiere three Swedish series: the drama ‘Limbo‘ (October 26th), ‘Max Anger: spy‘ (September 21) and the prison thriller ‘ice fists‘ (November).
From the other side of the Scandinavian border comes to the television channel AMC the finnish series’death below zero‘ (December), ‘Evil‘ (forthcoming), plus a Danish crime drama, ‘boys‘ (November).
Horror movies like ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey‘, ‘Wreck (Psychopath)‘ (November) or ‘alone together‘ and a range of films for all kinds of audiences ranging from blockbusters (‘titanic‘) to timeless classics (‘Breakfast with diamonds‘), going through popular sagas such as ‘Harry Potter‘, ‘Planet of the Apes’‘Breakfast with diamonds’ or terror like ‘Annabelle Comes Home‘.
In the field of documentaries, AMC SELEKT will launch titles such as ‘pathfinders‘ either ‘Islands: nature laboratories‘, ‘Reeva and the Pistorius case’ and the special ‘Sex, secrets and power‘, also counting on the new season of ‘topgear‘, a program focused on the motor world.
The commitment to lifestyle is led by original production formats such as “I’m going to eat the world” ‘The tips of the Computer‘, ‘Reform without work‘ and the new season of ‘School Channel Kitchen‘, with famous faces like Michael Palin and Jamie Oliver, who visits Spain in ‘Jamie Oliver in the Mediterranean‘.
