Since about 11:30 a.m. this morning, testimonies have been pouring in on social networks as well as on Down Detector: Twitter down. Among users, it is exasperation, because it is already the second time in just a few days that the social network with the blue bird has let them down. Although the situation has calmed down somewhat, many users are still affected by the problem.
“Well then Elon, we don’t pay the rent anymore and now the waiters too? » This joke from a Down Detector user has something to smile about. Still, the situation is annoying for many Internet users. For at least two hours now, as of this writing, Twitter has been on a dry spell: impossible for thousands, perhaps more, of the platform’s members to post anything.
For others, the problem is even more serious, because they cannot send private messages to their contacts either. In short, the servers visibly dropped around 11:30 a.m. this morning and this greatly annoys Internet users. It must be said that only a few days earlier, the social network had already acted up before everything finally returned to normal.
The Twitter outage is getting better, but it’s not over yet
According to the figures collected by Down Detector, it is mainly the mobile version of the application which is stranded, with 57% of reports. However, the website is not spared with 37% of reports. Note that the situation is gradually improving, as shown in the graph below. But the problem, whatever it is, is still far from being solved.

In addition, this outage comes in a sensitive context for Twitter, which has been struggling to restore its image since the arrival of Elon Musk at the helm. While many are already looking for alternatives to the platform, the latter is unlikely to hold them back by crashing so regularly. So let’s hope that the origin of the phenomenon will soon be found and that the social network will start to function as usual.
