Gabeldorsche It was always something of a mystery as the only explanation that is included in the developer options is that it is a new Bluetooth feature stack. we explain What is it Gabeldorsche and you decide if you want to activate it on Android 11 or higher. In Android 13, you will have it yes or yes.
Gabeldorsche for all
For a couple of years, Google has been working on a new version of the Bluetooth stack for Android, or the Bluetooth stack. It is in essence Bluetooth implementation in Androidwhich was beginning to be somewhat outdated.
Until Android 13, Android used the Fluoride implementation, based on the BlueDroid created way back in 2012. Ten years later, Google has been rewriting the implementation from scratch for better security, stability, interoperability and greater ease when performing automated tests. That’s the new implementation Gabeldorsche which was testable as a developer option in Android 11 and Android 12 and is now the default option in Android 13.

As a result, in Android 13 the Enable Gabeldorsche option no longer appears for the simple reason that it is already active. According to Mishaal Rahman of esper.iothis new implementation is used only in Bluetooth device scanning.
Unlike other Bluetooth settings in the developer options, such as codecs, we won’t notice a difference between using Gabeldorsche or the previous fluoride. They are internal changes that, hopefully, will materialize in a more robust, stable and secure version against possible security problems. You can find all the highly technical internal details at this explanatory page from Google.

Now that Gabeldorsche is part of Android 13, you’re probably wondering Where does the name come from. It is a play on words of those that so many like Google. Gabeldorsche is a (bad) translation of forkbeardname of the son King harald bluetooth. The translation is a disaster and it is also in the plural, but Google has decided to keep it and sends you a this “informative video” to know more details about it.
