Google has just rolled out Android Auto 10.5, which doesn’t contain any new features. Indeed, the changelog is completely empty this time, meaning that the Mountain View firm preferred to correct a few bugs and improve the performance of its operating system this time.
We know that not all updates are the same. Some provide features that change everything, while others are more confidential. An observation which of course applies to Android Auto, which for example recently saw the arrival of Zoom in its ecosystem… and which has just deployed an update that at first glance is completely empty.
In any case, this is what the changelog published by Google suggests, which does not present any new functionality. However, for Android 10.5, now available in beta, the changelog announces absolutely nothing, which seems to indicate the Mountain View firm preferred to correct bugs and improve the performance of its car operating system.

Now is not a good time to join the Android Auto beta
If you are already on the Android Auto beta channel, this new update should not fundamentally change the way you use it. If, on the other hand, you were waiting for the right moment to embark on the adventure, this is definitely not the right one. Let us remember that any beta version that exists is by definition much less stable than a general public version, thereby exposing its users to various more or less serious bugs.
We therefore advise you to wait for a much larger next beta for Android Auto, which will bring a major feature or change to the operating system. If you still want to join the program, here are the few steps to follow:
- Go to this link
- Click on Become a tester.
- On your smartphone, then open the Play store
- Click on your profile picture then on Manage apps and devices
- In the tab Managescroll until you see the application Android Auto
- Update finally your Android Auto application by selecting the latest available beta.
- In the section Try the betaclick on Jointhen on Participate
Note that, although public, the Android Auto beta is open to a limited number of users. It is therefore possible that this total will already be reached when you try to reach it.
