We’re used to seeing a new version of Android Auto almost every week, but Google has picked up the pace with the latest releases. Android Auto 12.6 took three days to go from beta to stable and Android Auto 12.7 is now available for download from Google Playjust one day after being launched as a beta.

You can now update to Android Auto 12.7
A new version of Android Auto is waiting for you on Google Play: version 12.7.6434If you’re part of the elusive Android Auto beta program, you should have received the update to beta version 12.7.1434 yesterday. With such a short time gap, it’s likely that there won’t be any changes from one to the other.
We tested Android Auto 12.7 anyway, as Google is very fond of enabling changes from the server side. All we saw was a notification telling us that there was More options to manage notificationsfrom the Android Auto settings on the mobile.
Otherwise, we have not seen any differences in the Android Auto settings in the car or on the mobile, in the application drawer or in Google Maps in Android Auto. Officially, Google states that the changes for this version are Bug fixes and internal improvementsbut we have no way of knowing which ones.
Known Android Auto issues, including disconnections and new message notifications, are still pending, but if you experience any issues with Android Auto, it’s recommended that you update to see if they’re fixed.
At the moment we have not found any other changes in Android Auto 12.7, although we cannot rule out that there are some other changes pending for remote activation. These are the Steps to update to Android Auto 12.7:
- First, check which version of Android Auto you already have, as it may have been updated without you knowing.
- If you don’t have Android Auto 12.7 yet, open Google Play and tap on your profile picture, then choose Manage apps and device. Then press Update all.
- For now, the stable Android Auto 12.7 APK is not available on APKMirror, although it should appear in the next few hours.
