A new beta version appears today for Android Auto. After the 9.1 update, which obviously went through beta and then reached everyone in the stable branch, it opens the season for users who install the preliminary versions to go ahead.
If you’re part of the Android Auto beta program, you’ll be able to download the new update from Google Play Store. Although, if you are impatient, you can always update with the APK method.
One more week, a new update
How could it be otherwise, we have our particular portion of Android Auto, although this time it must be tested first by a select group of testers beta. Once it has been verified that everything works normally, it will pass to the rest of the users, probably next week.
For our part, we have installed it to see What’s new in Android Auto 9.2 beta, and sadly, there are no visual changes in broad strokes. Neither in the mobile settings app nor in the vehicle interface itself.
Or at least, that’s what we think because Android Auto has a very particular way of updating itself. As we have been learning in recent weeks, Several features are still pending: the split screen that Google confirmed and the redesign of the settings on mobile in the style of Material You.
However, the non-visible changes point to a general bug fix. And one of the goals remains to refine Coolwalk so that it works seamlessly across the wide range of supported devices.
For its part, Google has not updated the list of known issues, so we have nothing new. It is time to update, the process of which can be automatic through the Play Store, or we decide install the apk file which provides as always APKMirror. Remember that if you install the file, you will need to enable installation from unknown sources.
