LaLiga Smartbank arrives at Euskaltel
Failing to get offers in the auction of the rights of LaLiga Smartbank (Second Division) for an operator to offer them exclusively, LaLiga decided to make a second attempt by announcing the reserve price, but Lot 7 was left deserted, which opened the door to be marketed in non-exclusive regime.
From August 12, 2022, the date on which the first day of the competition began, Vodafone, Movistar, Orange and Telecable were the operators that broadcast the first 11 games, confirming that, later, “from September”, other operators and platforms would gradually be incorporated into the retransmissions (Amazon Prime Video, Euskaltel, R, Virgin Telco, MásMóvil, Yoigo and Guuk), which exponentially multiplied the access of fans to the competition.
Well, overcoming the delay of the ninth month, I knowWe know when the LFP Second Division will begin to be broadcast on Euskaltel. I knowIt will be this week when subscribers to the operator with the new Total TV package can enjoy LaLiga Smartbank matches, which will be available through the LaLiga Smartbank TV channel on dial 62 of Agile TV.
On Prime Video starting in November
Another of the big platforms that will broadcast the competition and is months behind schedule is Amazon Prime Video, the streaming platform on which subscribers will be able to watch the matches of LaLiga Smartbank at no additional costbeing the first soccer competition that joins the streaming platform of the e-commerce giant in our country.
Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, confirmed in early October at the ‘Compliance in Sports Law’ Congress, organized by the Higher Sports Council and the Universities of Malaga and the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid, that LaLiga Smartbank will be seen on Amazon Prime Video from November 1.
