Recently an original iPhone fetched $63,000 at auction.
While some manufacturers focus on launching luxury versions of the iPhone, the truth is that the most expensive iPhone in the world will always remain the original iPhone from 2007. A clear example of this can be found in a recent auction in which the iPhone sold for $63,000.
Now the date has been set for a new auction in which all kinds of rare Apple products will be included. Auction attendees may choose to bid for a 2007 iPhone in its original packaging, an Apple-1 computer signed by Steve Wozniak, a ROM chip signed by Steve Jobs, vintage posters with the slogan Think Different and a letter written by Steve Jobs. Almost nothing!
This original 2007 iPhone could be worth $60,000
After selling a first-generation iPhone for $63,000 and breaking all records, it has now been put up for auction another 8 GB iPhone in its original package. From RR Auction they estimate that the final price of this iconic collector’s item will be more than $20,000 but due to its condition and its similarity to the last iPhone auctioned, its value could perfectly reach $60,000.
The description of this iPhone in the auction mentions the following:
“An unopened original first generation Apple iPhone, model A1203, code MA712LL/A (8 GB). The box has a life-size image of the iPhone with 12 icons on the screen, indicating that it is first production (2007 ); a 13th icon, for iTunes, arrived later that year. In new condition and factory sealed.”
As we previously mentioned, the auction will also have other high-value items such as an Apple-1 that could reach a price of $500,000Think Different posters and letters and documents signed by Steve Jobs.
