Apple and Samsung team up to offer users a new iPhone feature

Samsung announced through a press release that will offer support for AirPlay on its hotel televisions. A feature for iPhone that was recently introduced with the arrival of iOS 17.3 at the end of January 2024.
The AirPlay feature for hotels offers the possibility of scan a QR code single on a TV in a hotel room to establish a connection via AirPlay to stream content or mirror the iPhone screen on a TV.
iOS 17.3 brings AirPlay to your hotel room
After a first pairing process via QR code, the Apple iPhone will automatically connect to the hotels Wi-Fi network. For its operation, as we previously indicated, iOS 17.3 or iPadOS 17.3 is required.
Thanks to AirPlay for hotels, iPhone users will be able to stream content from apps and services such as Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, Apple Fitness+ and much more.
According to Samsung, the new AirPlay function for Apple hotels does not store any personal information and paired devices are automatically deleted after the check out of the hotel.
Samsung has not specified which hotel chains will support this new iPhone AirPlay feature. AirPlay for Hotels is currently already present on LG TVs. IHG hotels in the United States, Canada and Mexico. We will have to wait and see how this feature continues to expand internationally.
