In the more or less near future, Apple could launch a paid subscription giving access to the biggest AI features made available to customers. A logical choice even if it risks in turn causing debate within the community.
Apple “Pay” Intelligence
While Apple hasn’t spoken publicly about this yet, it’s likely that it will eventually come to the table. The first version of Apple Intelligence, which will be rolled out gradually from September to December 2024, is likely to be free for all compatible iPhone owners.
However, a monthly subscription could be on the horizon in the coming months or years. According to some analysts at the microphone of CNBCApple is said to be planning to launch a subscription for €10 or €20 per month that would give access to future AI features that are much more advanced than the free ones. This would make the development costs, which are huge in this area, profitable.
Apple could add an AI part to Apple One for an additional cost. Even if Apple spends less than its competitors on AI, it seems inconceivable that the brand would not launch a subscription to maximize the profitability of these new expenses. Especially since we are only at the beginning, and this is likely to increase from year to year. Not to mention Apple’s revenue from the part servicesa mountain of tickets that counts for a lot when the results are published.
In an era where monthly subscriptions are flooding people’s bank accounts, Apple will have to think carefully before launching. Paid AI features will have to provide a “vital effect”, giving the user the impression that they can no longer do without them to the point of paying at the beginning of each month.
