With the measures taken by the US, Huawei practically disappeared from all countries, except China, where five years later it seems that the Chinese firm is beginning to emerge as the company that is selling the most in China. In fact, the last quarter has launched different products such as the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, Huawei Mate 60 Plus and a folding phone called Mate XM5.

Therefore, What is the current situation in China? Without being the same as five years ago, it has changed so much that it has even had the possibility of developing a new operating system, HarmonyOS. When they presented it, a large part of the public said “It is the only solution they had left and it is the only thing we could do”. Five years later, its OS is still not up to par with iOS or Android, we have seen, but it is becoming a more serious operating system.

China defends Huawei and responds to the US

The Asian giant, after a certain lethargy (five years), seems to be starting to take action on the matter and has put Apple in its sights, literally shooting at one of the flagship companies in the United States. In fact, the latest measure against Apple because it has prohibited all officials from carrying Apple phones because they may have access to confidential Chinese information, which has caused a fall of 200,000 million dollars in the stock market and the loss of 100 millions of potential customers in China alone. This huge number of officials are buying a new device, and what device are they buying? Exactly, the new Huawei.

China is a fundamental country and capital for Apple, not only for the manufacturing of its devices, although little by little they are migrating part of the production to India, but it is a country that Apple sells a lot and a loss of this market does a lot to the company, because it loses one of the main markets in the world.

Why Apple and Google and not Microsoft?

From the first moment the measures were instituted, Apple or Google took action on the matter and quickly eliminated their commercial ties with Huawei.

Now, companies like Microsoft did continue to sell products to the Chinese firm through a special permit that the US government gave it in 2019. What’s more, Huawei in these five years has continued to sell laptops with the Windows operating system and with a very good functioning.

The semiconductor war

Along with the blow that it has given Apple, China and, specifically, Huawei has been developing its semiconductor industry these five years, recently launched a new processor developed natively by Huawei such as the 7 nm Kirin 9000s, a very powerful processor.

Along with this, we have to highlight 5G, because for five years ago, Huawei devices did not have an American modem, but rather their own modem and, therefore, it has set off all the alarms in the United States. They have their own operating system, they have their own processor and they have their own connectivity. Does anyone give more?

Has it overtaken Apple in innovation?

Due to North American sanctions, Huawei has developed the only thing it could develop, that is, laptops and smart watches, generating a wide range of products for all types of users.

This has caused terror in the North American company Apple, because if they are capable of developing their own processors, they are capable of developing their own operating system and they are capable of creating their own 5G modems, they can now avoid Western sanctions and therefore, return to be a competition to Apple, a competition that five years ago, with Google services, stood up to it, so, now, be careful because Apple’s reign is very close to its end.
