apple battery icon on devices has been causing problems for a while. Ever since iOS 16’s first look at the reintroduced battery percentage indicator was presented, people have voiced strong opinions about the icon. Many have criticized Apple’s battery percentage icon, including Engadget Deputy Editor Cherlynn Low.
Apple is changing the battery percentage icon of iOS 16!
In its current iteration, the icon remains stable until your iPhone’s battery capacity drops below 20 percent. For this reason, in most cases it becomes difficult to understand how much battery you have left. Users have also expressed their complaints about this issue. Fortunately, Apple is working on an improved version of the icon. Earlier today, the company released the second iOS 16.1 beta. Among other things, the update brings a tweak to the battery percentage indicator. Now, instead of the icon turning red only when your iPhone’s battery drops below 20 percent, it will slowly drain like the battery. It’s a small change, but one that improves usability.
Beta two also includes a tweak to the lock screen. When you plug your phone in to charge, a battery percentage indicator will appear briefly above the time, bringing back a feature from iOS 15. The next version of iOS 16 does not have a release date yet. In addition, it should be noted that Apple can make further tweaks to some of the changes found in beta two.
