2024 will be the year of Artificial Intelligence for Apple!
Major technology companies typically compete with each other, but they have also shown that they are capable of forming alliances for the greater good. So this week Apple has joined Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Meta to support an initiative that seeks the safe development of artificial intelligence.
According to Apple Insider US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo launched the US AI Security Institute Consortium program. It emerged after an October executive order directing that the United States will lead the way in the safe development of artificial intelligence.
Large companies unite for Artificial Intelligence
The Safety Institute consortium includes more than 200 leading AI stakeholders to help advance the development and deployment of safe and trustworthy AI.
The representative of The United States Secretary of Commerce assured that the United States government gave the green light to establish security standards and protect the innovation ecosystem. Which is precisely what the US AI Safety Institute Consortium was created for.
The program of US AI Safety Institute Consortium includes more than 200 leading AI stakeholders to help advance the development and deployment of safe and trustworthy AI. As Raimondo added:
“Through President Biden’s historic Executive Order, we will ensure that the United States is at the head of the pack, and by working with this group of leaders from industry, civil society, and academia, together we can meet these challenges to develop measurements and standards to maintain America’s competitive advantage and develop AI responsibly”
The full list of the AI Safety Institute Consortium which includes about 200 companies, is made up of some such as: Apple, Microsoft, Meta, Canva, IBM and many others that seek to continue enhancing their services, thanks to artificial intelligence.
This 2024, eyes are on Apple and the presentation of its projects related to Artificial Intelligence. All, after a 2023 in which industry analysts were only wondering when those with the bitten apple would catch up with the companies that stood out in this sector, such as Open AI with the popular ChatGPT or Microsoft.
In advance of the expected presentations, this week, Apple has launched an open source artificial intelligence model that edits images, based on user instructions using natural language.
