As usual, Apple will hold a back-to-school event to introduce its new iPhone lineup and new products to the world. This year, Apple will announce the iPhone 16, but also according to rumors the Apple Watch X and the AirPods 4.
See you on September 9 at 7:00 p.m.
On Monday, September 9, Apple will hold its long-awaited Apple Event from the start of the school year to Steve Jobs Theaterin the heart of Apple Park in California. Starting at 7 p.m. (French time), the event will be broadcast live and will unveil the new iPhone 16 and other products that are usually unveiled in September (like the Apple Watch). This event, followed by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, will also welcome members of the media, including several representatives of the French press.
The iPhone 16 will be the big star of this keynote. This year, Apple is preparing to revolutionize the user experience with a series of new AI-based features. This will be a selling point.
What’s new in iPhone 16
Common points
The new iPhone 16 will feature a customizable action button that will allow users to configure various shortcuts according to their individual preferences, for even more intuitive navigation (this button was previously reserved for the Pro models). A new capture button will also be introduced, with integrated gestures for zooming and focusing, which will make photography on the iPhone even more powerful.
At the heart of these new models, the A18 chip will be present across the range. It is designed to offer exceptional performance and to take full advantage of the new Apple Intelligence features included in iOS 18. We imagine that some have not yet been presented and will be exclusive to the 2024 iPhone.
Pro versions: bigger, more powerful
The iPhone 16 Pro models will also see major upgrades. The iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will offer a 6.9-inch display, each growing by 0.2 inches. For photography enthusiasts, a 5x telephoto zoom option will now be available on the Pro, a feature previously reserved only for the Pro Max model.
Apple Watch 10: A leap forward in connected health
Beyond the iPhones, Apple will introduce the Apple Watch Series 10, which will feature a slimmer design and a larger screen, reinforcing the elegance of the watch. The tenth generation could be called Apple Watch X.
The Apple Watch SE 3 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 will also get a refresh, with several improvements including the addition of potential new health features, such as sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring. The new SE will reportedly be made of plastic to reduce its price.
Finally, the AirPods 4 will also be there, with two distinct models: a direct successor to the AirPods 3, and another model with active noise cancellation, but at a more accessible price than the Pro versions.
iPad
Finally, Apple could launch new tablets, with the iPad 11 and iPad mini 7. The new features will be meager for owners of the current models, but we are betting on an improved processor, faster Wi-Fi and a repositioned front camera.
How to follow the event?
To make sure you don’t miss anything of this major event, you can follow the presentation live on the Apple website, on YouTube and via the Apple TV app. The live broadcast will also be on iPhoneSoft and via the iSoft app, available on iOS, iPadOS and visionOS. All with our commentary in French on the keynote page.
