Ming-Chi Kuo, a reliable analyst who sources directly from Apple’s supply chain, predicted on X that an Apple Watch Ultra 3 and an Apple Watch SE 3 will be released in 2025. You don’t have to be Madame Irma to guess that.
A year of waiting
However, nearly a year ago, Kuo predicted that there might not be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year. That was confirmed yesterday, during the “It’s Glowtime” keynote. The only new smartwatch announced at Apple’s event yesterday was the Apple Watch Series 10, while the Apple Watch Ultra 2 received a black color option and the Apple Watch SE was not updated. It remains stuck in 2022, with very few health features.
In both cases, rumors are not rushing to give us a glimpse of the expected new features. On the Apple Watch Ultra 3, we expect even more autonomy and robustness, with why not a second size as an option. On the Apple Watch SE 3 side, the price could drop, thanks to a molded plastic case. We hope that it will gain a few sensors along the way, like the electrocardiogram that appeared on the Apple Watch Series 4.
Barring any surprises, customers will have to wait until the Apple Watch Series 11 (and iPhone 17) to get their hands on the next-generation Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch SE. In the meantime, check out our review of the Apple Watch 10, as well as the few new features that the Apple Watch 9 and Ultra 2 have picked up after the fact.
