The arrival of the new iPhone 15 will be a before and after in many aspects. To begin with, the arrival of the USB type C connector will make this iPhone the first of all to adopt a standard connection (on a physical level). But the iPhone is not a product in itself, but rather it has its own ecosystem, pardon the redundancy, within the Apple ecosystem. Thanks to the set of hardware, software and accessories, this phone has given rise to the development of many accessories with which we can equip it. And those on the block will have no choice but to update them.
New leaks continue to emerge about what is to come in this September’s keynote. And, although we know many details regarding the iPhone 15, the company’s official accessories seemed to be at rest. But now, thanks to images that have been leaked on Xand new information that Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman has released, we have a very interesting panorama ahead, and in which Apple will have to get to work.
The USB type C connector is the key to everything
Well said, technological change is not additive, but ecological. And the best proof is that changing the connector, from Lightning to USB type C on the iPhone 15, is not going to be “just changing one for the other.” The entire ecosystem around it will be affected, and along with it, it will have to change, if it wants to preserve what has been built so far.
Leaving aside the software and hardware of the iPhone itself, Apple has many official accessories compatible with iPhones. The official MagSafe batteries or the MagSafe Duo charging bases are two of Apple’s best-known accessories, when it comes to recharging its devices. Now, if these make use of MagSafe, what does this have to do with USB type C?
If until now, the iPhone had Lightning, these accessories had Lightning. Thus, with the same cable, everything was plugged in and charged. Now, if the iPhones have USB type C, just follow this same rule of three.
In X, the already well-known leaker Magin Bu has published images of what the new MagSafe battery would look like, but. with the new USB type C connector. Until now, this magnetic battery had a Lightning port at the bottom, to recharge the battery.
All new Apple accessories will have to follow USB C standards, this means that even older models will be updated. Here is a Usb C model of the MagSafe Battery https://t.co/QrMVJOld5u

On the other hand, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman includes another product on this list pending update. MacRumors echoes his statements: “They will have to make a new MagSafe Duo with USB-C.” Additionally, “Apple may update the MagSafe battery pack.” But these two accessories are not the only ones. In the same medium they also report that «Mark Gurman has said that Apple will migrate its entire line of accessories to USB-C next year. “The transition will be relatively quick, just as they did with the transition to the Lightning connector in 2012.”
