Two new iPhones have been born! Ok, yes, they are the same iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus that launched in September. But hat color is new! As was already rumored, Apple released new versions of the iPhone 14 in yellow this week. A usual tactic when spring approaches. Obviously it is not a revolution, but something curious to say the least.
As they say that there are no two without three, the Californian company has launched three new editions of iPhone already known in three consecutive years. First there were the iPhone 12 and 12 mini in purple in 2021, in 2022 it was the entire iPhone 13 series in green and now we find these yellowish iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
If something works, better not touch it
Apple, like so many others, does not offer data about which models of its iPhone are sold the most, much less the color that its users prefer. Not even the sales data from other studies reveal such specific data. However, it is enough to observe how repetitive this strategy is to realize that they must have done something right so that for three years we have seen new colors on their devices when they had already been on the market for half a year.
It goes without saying that a company of this caliber measures each step to the millimeter. With mistakes many times, yes, but without leaving anything to chance. If there is one company that is often called the queen of marketing, it is Apple.. And to show a button.
It is no longer just the impact on sales that launching a new color on their current iPhones may have, something that will surely push some to finish convincing themselves in the purchase if they were not already convinced of that color before. The highlight of this is that Apple manages to capture attention again at a time when its iPhones were no longer protagonists. The time of analyzing your devices and telling your curiosities is over.
Now it is other flagships that monopolize covers (ahem OnePlus 11, ahem Samsung Galaxy S23, ahem Xiaomi 13). And yet, look. Here we are, six months later we are talking about the iPhone 14 again. They have no new hardware or software. Not even the packaging changes beyond the logical references to color. But the color is new. Very new. Is yellow!
In the absence of new data to finish confirming the iPhone 14 sales trend, we already saw that the ‘Plus’ model did not start especially well in the reservation period. Some time later it continued to raise concern at Apple. Luckily for Apple, neither that ‘Plus’, nor the standard model were affected by the lack of stock as it happened in the ‘Pro’ models. It is more than evident that now they hope that yellow will make them rise from their electronic ashes.
In reference to the future, the latest leaks point to new colors that the iPhone 15 will bring from its launch. And surely, regardless of this, we will dedicate many lines of analysis to them. The big question is What new iPhone 15 color will we be talking about in March 2024? Everything will depend on whether this third colorful reissue works, but the bets are open.
