Yesterday was WWDC, and Apple presented all its new operating systems: iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 and watchOS 10. That was not the only thing, of course. The most important thing about the keynote was the Vision Pro. Apple’s mixed reality glasses that we’ve been talking about for so long and that we finally know officially.
At the iOS 17 level, there have been quite a few changes. It is true that in the visual section they may have fallen a bit short, but there are many new features, system improvements and optimization. Perhaps one of the sections that stands out the most is Safari, which has undergone many modifications.
More Safari. More Apple
When you open the app there doesn’t seem to be anything new. Everything is still in its place. However, as you use it you notice the changes. Tapping the seek bar changes the animation to open the keyboard slightly. This is not the most striking, far from it, but it is a good point.
When you start typing you will notice that the interface changes. Now it gives you more suggestions for searches that you could be doing. If one convinces you, you don’t have to keep writing, just click on it. It will also offer you a couple of links that might be useful, and pages that look like what you’re looking for that are in your history. Is a much simpler and more thoughtful experience.
History is also displayed differently. It is a much more current look and in line with the design of the entire system. In addition, stealth mode search has now been blocked so you have to use Face ID to access it. We understand it’s so that someone with access to your iPhone can’t search for something without you knowing what it is. Crashes when not in use, now Features anti-tracking and fingerprint protection.
The truth is that this new Safari makes a lot of sense. This infinitely more in tune with the rest of the system, includes much-needed security measures, and is more intuitive. It makes use of the new keyboard that Apple has also introduced, has better suggestions and is much more complete. A great browser at the height of a great operating system.
