Now Union Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed confidence to pass this bill on priority. However, Nasscom, an organization of the tech industry, has said an important thing about this. NASSCOM in a message on Twitter has described this bill as very important for the country. Nasscom says that with the implementation of this bill, India will be able to gain a new identity as a trustworthy country in the world.
The suggestions of the Standing Committee of Parliament will be included
Nasscom wrote in its tweet that the tech industry had requested Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to implement the ‘Digital Data Security Bill’ at the earliest. This bill will recognize India as a trustworthy nation. The Union Minister has assured us that all steps will be taken to bring this Bill on the table of the Parliament at the earliest. This is his top priority.
Not only this, the Union Minister has said that the suggestions of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology will be included in the Bill. We would like to clarify that the Union Minister has nowhere said that the Bill has been ‘cleared’ by the Standing Committee of Parliament. NASSCOM President Debjani Ghosh says that this bill should be passed as soon as possible. He is hopeful that this bill will be implemented this year itself.

Regarding this, the news appeared in many places that the Standing Committee has approved the draft of the law. While Ashwini Vaishnav meant to go ahead with the amendment made in the bill. Ashwini Vaishnav gave this statement while addressing the annual convention of NTLF. In the year 2021, the Joint Parliamentary Committee had recommended some changes in the Data Protection Bill. After this the government had promised to withdraw it and bring a new bill. The government had brought an amended bill related to this last year.
