ASUS launches in Spain its VivoWatch 5 Aero, a fitness tracker that can take electrocardiography (ECG) and photoplethysmography (PPG) readings.

ASUS announces the arrival in Spain of its new VivoWatch 5 AERO smart bracelet. Announced in September at IFA 2022, this novelty combines a small screen with a large number of sensors inserted below.

As the company explains, this smart bracelet is the first fitness tracker in the world to offer certain functionalities, with ECG and PPG sensors to take measurements of the constants with the fingertip since they affirm that it is possible to make more precise readings with this part than with the wrist.

“The VivoWatch 5 AERO incorporates photoplethysmography (PPG) and electrocardiography (ECG) sensors that monitor the wearer’s vital signs in real time. This data is automatically synced with the ASUS Health Connect app to provide a comprehensive summary of the wearer’s vital signs Instantly”explains the company in a press release.

These dual ECG and PPG sensors will allow you to take your pulse, measure heart rate levels, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and more. To take an ECG reading, You simply have to place your fingerprint on the sensor right on the screen for a few seconds.

“This supervision is even more exhaustive during periods of sleep, since in moments of rest this monitoring of the heart rate occurs minute by minute”they add.

The device also has GPS, IC antennas and a G sensor to control your routes at all times without having to take your smartphone with you. It includes a water resistance of up to 50 meters deep and a 3-day battery life thanks to the 140 mAh in regular use.

As mentioned before, another of its advantages is the ability to upload all your data and comprehensively track all measured levels in the ASUS HealthConnect app. “By downloading the app, users can also use the VivoWatch 5 AERO as a Bluetooth remote control to control the smartphone’s camera shutter”they explain in the press release.

This ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO smart bracelet currently It can be purchased for €129.
