Xiaomi introduced HyperOS in mid-2023 as the evolution of the operating system used by mobile devicesHyperOS is the platform with which the company replaces MIUI and unifies its entire ecosystem of products, including mobile phones, wearables and cars.
HyperOS 2.0 will be the first major update to the operating system, It is based on Android 15 and includes important changes to the interface and new functions, but unfortunately not all of the company’s phones will have this update: Xiaomi has already confirmed six models that will not receive it.
These six Xiaomi phones will not receive HyperOS 2.0
The update to HyperOS 2.0 will reach recent mobile phones and tablets such as the Xiaomi 14, the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the POCO M6 Pro, among many others. However, Some older phones will not be part of this updateespecially if in addition to having arrived on the market several years ago they also have more limited hardware.
Xiaomi has added more models to its list of products that have reached the end of their life cycle. These devices will no longer receive operating system updates, including the new version of HyperOS. If your smartphone is on this list, it will no longer receive software updates:
The list includes one of the company’s most popular mid-range models during 2022, the POCO F3. In addition, the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet has also reached the end of its update cycle.
This doesn’t mean that the models on this list will no longer work, however they will not receive new versions of the operating system or security updates. Over time, this also means that they will not be able to receive application updates, but for this to happen it will take several years, until the apps are no longer compatible with the first version of HyperOS based on Android 14 or Android 13, depending on the device.
As for the launch of HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, the update is expected to reach compatible devices later this year.
