One year ago Banco Santander resumed its participation in one of the sports with the largest audience in the world: Formula 1. It did so through the sponsorship of Ferrari, making available to the Italian team a wide range of solutions to contribute to the sustainability of the sector, achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
One of these initiatives to achieve sustainability in the automotive world and more specifically in Formula 1 is Santander X Challenge | Countdown to Zero, a global challenge, promoted by Banco Santander and FOM, owner of F1, which is aimed at entrepreneurs who offer sustainable and applicable solutions to meet the objective of reducing emissions and, thus, contributing to caring for the environment and the fight against climate change.
This initiative is a boost for entrepreneurs who work to improve sustainability in the world based on technological development with projects that are capable of generating a lasting social and economic impact on the planet.

A global challenge that already has winners
More than 600 entrepreneurial projects from 11 countries have participated in the Santander X Global Challenge | Countdown to Zero, where 6 have been the selected companies (3 startups and 3 scaleups). These 6, in addition to the cash prize, will have access to Santander X 100, the global entrepreneurship community that includes the most outstanding projects supported by Banco Santander, and EIT InnoEnergy to accelerate their growth. Added to this is the possibility of presenting your projects to F1 experts.
