A gadget has arrived in swimming that has come to revolutionize absolutely everything: smart glasses capable of providing you with all the data you need in real time without the need for anything else.

The sport is very given to innovation, although obviously at the competition level there are a series of improvements that cannot be used and remain in training. One of them has just landed in a sport with a long history of controversy in this section, and it is swimming.

There is no shortage of top-level swimming watches, many of them from top brands like Garmin. However, the latest technological novelty is even more original: smart swimming goggles. Yes, you read it right: glasses connected to an app and that practically do everything for you, except swimming, of course.

There are not many models for sale for now, and it is that only a couple of brands have been encouraged by this sector, which promises a lot for the future both in the pool and in open water.

At least one of the two can also add heart rate, although it does so using the Polar HR band if you pair it, not autonomously.

There are certain differences between the two models that are already on sale, such as the presence or not of GPS for thorough monitoring in open water.

These smart swimming goggles are the most complete of all, and they do have integrated GPS for tracking in open water, although that obviously impacts battery life.

Like those of Finis, they have a stopwatch and a screen integrated into the lens, with total and partial times. You can configure the data you want to see on your screen.

It automatically synchronizes all the data with its mobile application, where you can access its premium service –with a free trial– with training so that you improve your swimming level.

During the training, the glasses themselves will show messages so that you can adapt the swim or the effort to give less strokes or push the rhythm more if necessary to reach the goal set.

In this regard, they are the best allies for all types of swimmers of any level, even those who train at a competitive level.

Inside these goggles, the time data, lengths and other essential information for swimmers are shown in real time. They connect to apps like Strava.

Unlike the FORM model, these from Finis do not have GPS, but they are much better goggles for swimming in the pool due to their design, more high-end and adapted to what today are top swimming goggles.

They are available in various colors, with or without sun protection. For the rest, it also measures all the necessary distance, pace, time or stroke data, and synchronizes it with an application that looks very good.

It should be noted that unlike the FORMs, the data is not displayed on the lens itself, but on a magnetic module that is inserted into them. That has a drawback, as it reduces the field of vision, but it also makes it easier to replace the glasses if they break or wear out.

A detail that the most social swimmers will like is that it also synchronizes your data with applications such as Strava.
