Until now, it was necessary to enroll in a waiting list to be given access to the browser preview with GPT-4 for its new Bing Chat feature. From now on, it is free and accessible to everyone.
Bing with GPT-4 for everyone
Any user with a Microsoft account (something you’ll already have if you’re a user of Outlook, Teams, Xbox, Office 365, Skype, or the hundreds of Redmond services) can access to test GPT-4 through Bing Chat.
The chatbot originally launched in a private preview in February, and Microsoft has been gradually opening it up ever since. Now you simply have to access the new Bing or Edge with your Microsoft account, and now you will access the open preview version that works with GPT-4. Although it’s open to everyone, it’s still in preview, which means your comments and feedback are still welcome and wanted by Microsoft.
“By moving from a limited test to an open preview, we hope to be able to learn more and as a result be able to customize the experience based on user feedback”said Dena SaundersManaging Partner of the Web Experiences team at Microsoft.
Once inside you can choose between different styles for GPT-4 to chat with you. There are three main styles depending on what your needs are at the time: creative, balanced or precise.
New features for Bing Chat
This access to the new chatbot features for everyone with a Microsoft account is not the only novelty of the browser. The Windows company is constantly rolling out new features.
For example, those who now agree to try Bing Chat will see smart new features like image and video results, the new Bing feature and Edge Actions, persistent chat and history, and plugin support. The plugin compatibility it will be the key addition for developers and for the future of Bing Chat.
Microsoft is working with OpenTable to enable their plugin to complete restaurant reservations within Bing Chat and they are also collaborating with WolframAlpha for advanced math and graphics.

- Support different languages.
- Within the search engine, the Bing Image Creator option has been integrated, which allows generate images from scratch within the chat itself. Thanks to adding Dall-E technology.
- It offers more up-to-date information than the free use of Chat-GPT, which has not yet been upgraded to GPT-4.
