Tech News Desk – Zomato founder and chief executive Deepinder Goyal has resigned from the urban company’s board. In such a situation, according to media reports, Blinkit can come in the category of home services. The move will put Zomato and Blinkit in direct competition with Tiger Global-backed Urban Co. According to reports, Blinkit has already started offering home chef services through a Gurugram-based company called Chefkart, but it is yet to decide how it will enter the home services category.

As per reports, there is no clarity on the services to be offered. Blinkit platform has set up a new team of employees from the existing group and has reportedly hired employees to launch this new vertical.
Zomato received Rs 346.6 crore in the third quarter ending December 2022 last year, up from Rs 63.2 crore a year ago.
Revenue from operations grew 75 per cent to Rs 1,948 crore per day for the December quarter, as against Rs 1,112 crore in the same period last year. Accordingly, there has been an improvement of 17 per cent in revenue as against Rs 1,661 crore reported for Q2FY23.
The online food delivery giant’s adjusted EBITDA loss widened to Rs 265 crore in the December quarter, as against Rs 192 crore in the quarter ended September last year. Excluding Blinkit, operating loss stood at Rs 38 crore as compared to Rs 272 crore a year ago.
Looking at the growth and development, Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal said, “We will continue to focus on our long-term vectors without worrying too much about near-term growth pressures.” Increased and closed at 54.94.
